Distibution/Marketing

DISNEY COD AND CHIPS

Our game is going to be called Disney Cod and Chips because it is a girls version of Call of Duty. However the twist is the characters you will have to unlock will be well known disney characters, such as Cinderella, Beauty & The Beast, Snow White and the Seven dwarfs, Repunzel and Peter Pan. There is going to be 30 levels, which in each 5 levels you unlock a new character. In the last 5 levels you get to pick which character you want to be from the ones you have unlocked. Each character will have a different weapon, for example:

-Cinderella- Starts with a gun. After 150 kills she gets the fairy god mother which will give her the ability to teleport to wherever she needs to go.

-Snow White- Starts with a gun. Every 50 kills one dwarf is activated which can allow her to choose her next weapon depending on what dwarf.

-Belle- Starts with a gun. After 150 kills she gets the beast which allows her to have one hit kills for a certain amount of time.

-Repunzel- Starts with a gun. Every 25 kills, a certain amount of hair is add on to her pony tail. Once at 400 kills, her hair can then be used as a weapon.

-Peter Pan- Starts with a gun. Every 50 kills one lost boy is activated which can help him defeat the enemy. Every 500 kills he gets killer tink.

Which distribution company would you work with and why?
We would work with th Activision distribution company because it is already trusted by the current Call Of Duty, the use of graphics involved with this company have improved a huge amount since the beginning of this game, and has also helped with the sponsor of Tony Hawks and Moshi Monsters (like facebook but for children)

Where would you distribute your game to? Why? Think about target audience.
We would distribute our game to all the major game stores, such as, HMV, Game, GameStation or EPlay, as they are found in every town centre with quite a high advertisment overview (e.g. the new Call Of Duty) We would also sent it to Amazon and Ebay, as they are two of the most popular websites where you can purchase anything. Our target audience would be specifically for teenage girls to adults because not many girls like all the violence involved in the regular Call Of Duty, so we thought we could make it more entertaining and fun for girls to enjoy.

What marketing strategies would you use to promote your game? Give specific examples
We would use Viral Marketing ideas for the advertisment on the tv and on the internet, on websites such as Facebook, AOL or Hotmail. We would create a Facebook page, with up to date information on reviews on the game, pictures and video clips and the possibility of releasing a second part to it. We would also use Guerilla Marketing strategies to promote our game further. We would set up the first level of the game in the middle of a public place, for example, London, and the candidate who decides to play the game gets to do a trial run for 20 minutes. They will play as Cinderella and have to follow the game through small gaps and obsticles. They will come across people boards (used in training) which they have to shoot down, and when it comes to firing the weapon, foam shoes with paintballs in will be released to act as bullets. Once all the people boards have been shot down, they will have completed the level. There will be 4 of these happening at the same time.
