Task One Production: Summary of article
The test pole business model consists of a publisher releasing one hit game with lots of marketing and advertising, then it has the potential to create more games from the support from bigger, hollywood businesses. The hollywood model hires less people, so less money is spent. They hire temporary people so they can do there job and then go when completed everything. When developing without a publisher a developer has the ability to publish and distribute the products, the postives about this is that there is less pressure and gives them a chance to be even more creative. However, the negatives about this is that it may not ever be published and the developer would have to raise the capital themselves. Independant game development was a costly business, usually making developer have a contract in ordder to pay for the development. Now 'Indie Game' market software is happening, Xbox live market make small teams and almost anyone is capable of creating games, distribute them and make money, because of new technology, convergence and new ways of distrubution more games can be made and more money can be brought in. However, this is not the case for all businesses as some require specific requirements and higher technology.

-Playstation
-Ipod
-Ipad
-Iphone
-Interactive TV
-PSP
-Nintendo
-PC
-Wii
-Gameboy
-Arcade Machine
Today there are a lot more ways of consuming videogames as there was in the past. In the past there were games such as sonic and tetris which were played on gameboys which were small consoles, which would easily fit in your pocket and that you could carry around with you. Also pacman was a popular game in the past which was consumed by arcade machines. Sonic was then available to be consumed by playstation and pacman was then available to be consumed by PC's, internet and phone apps.
All of these games are really simple and easy to play, where as now videogames are a lot more complicated and difficult to play, including lots of different modes and levels. Basic consoles were used to consume video games in the past, however now most popular consoles are a lot larger and more complicated with all kinds of settings. This shows us how successful video gaming has become over the years til now as simple games have been developed and played on other consoles and videogames have changed massively.
