Distribution/ Marketing

Think about the concept of a new video game and answer the following:
The new video game we have created is a zumba dance app, its for fitness and fun with friends! This app works with a Apple product with a camera, such as the iPad 2 or the new iPhone4. As you are watching the zumba characters dance, you yourself are also displayed on the screen. This detects your every move, gaining you points if you dance well. These points then let you unlock new levels of zumba dance.  
1) Which distribution company would you work with and why?
We chose the new distribution model as it is also more up to date with technology, being more interactive and enhancing new high tech products.

2) Where would you distribute your game to? Why? Think about target audience.
This product would be distributed to iTunes and the Apple App Store as Apple products are very popular, and apps are very easy to buy and download which is suitable for all customers with an Apple product. Our target audience is for all ages and for both sexes, as its easy and simple for all.

3) What marketing strategies would you use to promote your game? Give specific examples.
We would use viral marketing to promote the game by having adverts on popular social networking sites such as Facebook or Hotmail. We would also use current marketing, by using celebrites to promote the product by adverts showing them playing the zumba game which would make viewers want to try out this app. Another marketing strategy we would use is Guerilla Marketing. Our idea for this would be to set up a giant iPad2 in the middle of a busy town centre, this would include the actual zumba game playing on one half of the iPad screen, and then a camera facing the audience, who can then see themselves on the giant screen. This would give them a fun, realistic insight of the game.
